Rachel Schiff has been studying the classical guitar for over seventeen years. She recently completed her Masters degree at Northwestern University under the guidance of Anne Waller. Rachel has played in master classes with prominent guitar figures such as Raphaella Smits, Dale Kavanagh, Shinichi Fukuda, Alvaro Pierri, David Russell, Robert Guthrie, Elena Papandreou,the Brazilian Guitar Quartet and the Canadian Guitar Quartet. Rachel has received numerous awards;most recently was her recognition in the Society of American Musician's annual collegiate guitar competition. Additionally, Rachel was accepted into the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy and into the Incontri Chitarristici in Gargnano, Italy to study with Maestro Oscar Ghiglia in the summer of 2009. Additionally, she has performed in several theater productions including Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, Bernstein's Mass and Shaw Chicago's A Midwinter's Tale.
